<>No need yo worry about credit card safety. Our secure server software is among the best software available today. We are presently hosting our store on YAHOO SHOPPING and they take the issue of security very seriously.

Every time you send us your credit card number and your billing and shipping information, we use the industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology (currently the best selling secure server software) to prevent the information from being intercepted. That means, when you enter your credit card number into the order form, it is transmitted across the Internet in an encrypted (scrambled) form, then decoded when it gets to us.

For added security, we also encrypt the credit card number when it is stored on disk.

If you are not the kind of person who worries about being hit by lightning as you're crossing the street, you probably don't have to worry that your credit card number will be intercepted on the way to a secure Web site.

The Hebron Gift Shop automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser including your IP address, cookie information and the page you requested.

We use this information for three general purposes: to customize the content you see on our pages, to fulfill your requests for certain products and services, and to contact you about specials and new products.

We will NEVER sell or rent your personally identifiable information to anyone.

We will NEVER send personally identifiable information about you to other companies or people.

1) No response? Server is down or not responding?

When your browser gets no response while trying to reach a site, it will usually print a message like "The server is down or not responding." The way this message is phrased, it sounds as if the server is at fault, but all this message really means is that, for whatever reason, your browser could not contact the server.

If you are unable to get to www.inner-store.org, the most likely problem is that your ISP has dropped your Internet connection, or that there is some problem on the Internet between your ISP and us.

To test if your connection is live, try going to a well-known site like www.cnn.com or www.cnet.com. If you can't get them either, then the problem is probably local.

If you can get to CNN but not to the Inner Dimension Shopping Center, then the problem is probably somewhere between your ISP and us. There are periodic logjams on parts the Internet, and some ISPs also have chronically bad Internet connections. The solution here is to try again later.

2) Why does it say I am being redirected to an insecure page?

After you place an order, we send you back to whatever page you last viewed (or some other page you specify). The order form is secure, and the regular site pages aren't.

Whenever you redirect from a secure to an insecure page, the browser issues a warning. And unfortunately, all the security warnings issued by the browser sound equally terrifying, whether they are really important or (as in this case) not.

So don't be worried about this message, we reassure you that your credit card info was not exposed. The message is merely about the page that you that you are being sent to after ordering.

3) Why can't I order from your site?

When you can't order from our site, the problem is almost always that you can't make a secure connection to the server. To test whether this is the problem, go to

https://www.microsoft.com

(note the 's' after http) and see if you can get through. If you can't get through to Microsoft either, then the problem is on your end.

There are two possible reasons why you can't set up secure connections.

You could have a really ancient browser, in which case you should get an upgrade.

You could be behind a corporate firewall that won't allow secure connections. In that case the solution is either to ask the network manager to fix the firewall, or to order from a computer outside the firewall.

4) Why do I get a cookie? What is a cookie?

A cookie is a piece of data that a Web server gives to a Web browser. When the same browser asks the server for another page, it includes the cookie with the request. This lets the server know when a sequence of clicks all come from the same browser.

That is all cookies do. Using cookies doesn't give the server any personal information about the person visiting the Web site.

Why we use them?

The Hebron Gift Shop uses cookies to keep track of each shopper's shopping basket. When someone arrives at the Hebron Gift Shop site, we give them a unique cookie. When they click on an Order button, we use the cookie to decide what shopping basket to put the product into.

If you don't use cookies (or some equivalent approach like putting a tracking code in the URL for each visitor), there is simply no way to make a shopping basket work; unless the server has some way to tell that two clicks on the Order button are coming from the same browser, it has no way to know that both orders should go into the same shopping basket.

Note that the Hebron Gift Shop doesn't store any information in the cookies themselves. The cookies are simply ids. Any information that shoppers enter when placing an order is kept on our servers; the id in the cookie is merely a key.
